Apply to be a Beta Reader
A beta reader is someone who reads a book manuscript with an eye towards providing feedback for the author. Though beta readers are not editors or professional critics, they can play an important role in helping the author improve the work by pointing out errors, plot holes, inconsistencies, or unclear passages.

Submission Guidelines
All manuscripts in every genre are considered for publication EXCEPT erotica, explicitly sexual romance, extreme violence, or horror. We are only interested in manuscripts that would be rated “G” or “PG” as movies. All of our books are published in print and eBooks.

To be considered, authors must submit electronically to admin@arborvalebooks.com Your submission must include: (1) a query letter detailing genre and word count, (2) an outline of approximately half a page, and (3) the first chapter of the book (up to 6,000 words).

We are a tiny publisher with very limited resources. Authors must agree to promote their book including building an e-mail list independent of the Arborvale Books list, and developing email content; book signings, readings, speaking and “meet the author” engagements, etc. The publisher will bear the costs of editing, cover design, and initial advertising budget, with future advertising budget based on sales and profitability of the book.
